X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE LUMBAR SPINE

FINDINGS:             AP, lateral, and oblique views are submitted.

There are moderate degenerative changes.

Vertebral bodies are intact.  There is no fracture.  Alignment of the vertebrae is normal.

Posterior elements appear to be unremarkable.

There is no spondylolysis or spondylolisthesis.

Calcification of the abdominal aorta is seen.

Narrowing of the disc space is seen at the L5-S1 disc level.

IMPRESSION:        Moderate degenerative changes associated with narrowing of the disc space at L5-S1 level.  Clinical correlation and if indicated, positive evaluation is suggested.
