X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE CERVICAL SPINE, FIVE VIEWS

CLINICAL DATA:               Neck pain.

FINDINGS:        Five views of the cervical spine are submitted.

The vertebrae are markedly demineralized.  There are degenerative changes.

The alignment of the vertebrae is normal.

There is no acute fracture or subluxation.

The odontoid process is intact and atlanto-axial joint relationship is within normal limits.

Posterior elements appear to be unremarkable.  Narrowing of the intervertebral disc space is noted at the C6-C7 level.

There is no prevertebral soft tissue swelling noted.

IMPRESSION:        Degenerative changes.
