TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

CLINICAL DATA:               Abnormal Pap smear.

FINDINGS:        The study was performed transvaginally.

The uterus measures 6 x 3.6 x 5 cm.  There are intrauterine echogenic masses with calcification measuring 2 x 1.4 x 2.2 cm, 2.2 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm, and 2.1 x 1.3 x 1.8 cm.  Most probably they represent fibroids.

Endometrial stripe measures 4 mm.  There is a small amount of fluid seen within the endometrial stripe.

Right ovary was not visualized.

Left ovary measures 1.8 x 1.3 x 1.8 cm.  No definite adnexal mass was noted.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

IMPRESSION:        Multiple small intrauterine masses with calcification suggesting the fibroids.
