ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

INDICATION FOR STUDY:           Abdominal pain.

FINDINGS:               An ultrasound examination of the abdomen shows the liver to be increased in size, but with no solid or cystic lesion seen.  The gallbladder fails to demonstrate any evidence of cholelithiasis.  The common bile duct measures 0.4 cm.

The right kidney measures 10.7 x 4.9 x 4.7 cm.  The left kidney measures 10.6 x 5.3 x 4.6 cm.  No solid or cystic lesions are seen within either kidney.  The pancreas and spleen are normal.  The abdominal aorta is of normal diameter.

IMPRESSION:          Hepatomegaly, but no other acute abdominal abnormality is identified.
