ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE ABDOMEN

FINDINGS:             The liver and spleen are normal in size and have a homogeneous echotexture.  There is no focal mass noted.

There is no ascites.

The gallbladder is normal without any evidence of calculus or wall thickening.  Common bile duct measures 4 mm.  There is no dilatation of intrahepatic biliary ducts.

Pancreas is unremarkable.

There is no evidence of abdominal aortic aneurysm.  Doppler examination of abdominal aorta was noted to be within normal limits.

The right kidney measures 10.4 x 3.7 x 3.7 cm and left kidney measures 10.7 x 4.7 x 4.4 cm.  There is no evidence of a renal calculus, hydronephrosis, or focal renal mass.

The RI index on the right renal is reported to be 0.6 and on the left, it is reported to be 0.62.

IMPRESSION:
1.                   No evidence of abdominal aortic aneurysm.  Normal Doppler examination of abdominal aorta.
2.                   The RI index on the right is reported to be 0.6 and on the left it is reported to be 0.62.
