LIMITED
ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE ABDOMEN
CLINICAL DATA: Liver lesion.
FINDINGS: Limited ultrasound study of right
upper quadrant was performed with special attention to the liver.
There is a 2.8 x 2.8
cm hyperechoic mass involving the right lobe of the liver.
There is no ascites.
The gallbladder is
normal without any evidence of a calculus or wall thickening. Common bile duct measures 3 mm. The visualization of the pancreas is limited.
IMPRESSION: 2.8 x 2.8 cm hyperechoic hepatic
mass. It may represent a cavernous
hemangioma. Other possibilities cannot
be excluded. Further evaluation with CAT
scan study without and with contrast with hemangioma protocol is recommended.
