ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE KIDNEYS

CLINICAL DATA:            Renal cyst and stones.  Renal failure.

FINDINGS:             Ultrasound study was correlated with the CAT scan study of abdomen dated 11/04/2010.

Right kidney measures 14.4 x 7.1 x 6.6 cm and left kidney measures 13.4 x 6.7 x 6.5 cm.

There are multiple simple cysts involving the right kidney, largest measuring about
8.2 x 6.5 x 4.8 cm.  There are multiple cysts involving the left kidney measuring
4.7 x 3.8 x 3.8 cm, 4.3 x 4.3 x 4.2 cm, and 4.3 x 5.4 x 4.6 cm.

On the present study, there is no evidence of renal calculus or hydronephrosis.

IMPRESSION:        Multiple bilateral renal cysts.  No definitive evidence of a stone or hydronephrosis.
