X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE ABDOMEN, COMPLETE
FINDINGS: There is no free air. There is no evidence of bowel
obstruction. The presence of fecal
material in the rectum is noted and there is some colonic distention raising
the possibility of fecal impaction. No
definite abnormal calcific density suggesting a calculus is noted. Rest of the examination appeared to be
unremarkable.
IMPRESSION: No evidence of bowel obstruction. Presence of fecal material in the rectum
associated with some distention of the colon raising the possibility of fecal
impaction. Clinical correlation is
suggested. Underlying Hirschsprung's
disease cannot be completely excluded.
Clinical correlation and further evaluation is suggested.
Thank
you for the referral.
