ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE RETROPERITONEUM (KIDNEYS)

FINDINGS:        The right kidney measures 7.9 x 4.5 x 4.7 cm.

The left kidney measures 9.3 x 4.5 x 4 cm.  There is no focal adrenal mass noted.

There is no evidence of hydronephrosis.

Cortical thinning is noted.

Right kidney is smaller in size in comparison with the left kidney.  Possibilities will include vascular and chronic infectious process.  Clinical correlation is suggested.  No previous studies are available for comparison.

IMPRESSION:        No evidence of hydronephrosis.
