BILATERAL BREAST ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

BILATERAL BREAST ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

FINDINGS:             Ultrasound study of both breasts was performed in correlation with the mammographic study done earlier in the day.

Ultrasound study of the right breast, it is unremarkable.  No definite solid or cystic lesion is noted.

Ultrasound study of the left breast in the presence of markedly dense parenchyma limits the sensitivity of the study.  No definite solid or cystic lesion involving the left breast is noted.  There is a 1.1 cm axillary lymph node.

IMPRESSION:        However, considering the limitation of the sensitivity of the study due to markedly dense parenchyma and possible architectural distortion involving upper and outer quadrant of the left breast on the mammographic study, further evaluation with MRI is recommended.

BI-RADS Clinical Assessment Category 0:  Would recommend further evaluation as discussed.

Thank you for the referral.
