X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE CERVICAL SPINE

X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE CERVICAL SPINE

FINDINGS:              AP, lateral, and oblique views of the cervical spine are submitted for evaluation.

There is marked hyperostosis involving the mid and lower cervical vertebrae with preservation of the intervertebral disc spaces.  The overall picture is suggestive of DISH, Forestier's disease.

Posterior elements appear to be unremarkable.

There is no acute fracture or subluxation.  There is no prevertebral soft tissue swelling.  Odontoid process is intact and atlantoaxial joint relationship is within normal limits.

IMPRESSION:        The overall picture is suggestive of DISH, Forestier's disease.  Clinical correlation is suggested.

Thank you for the referral.
