BILATERAL DIGITAL SCREENING MAMMOGRAM WITH CAD EVALUATION

BILATERAL DIGITAL SCREENING MAMMOGRAM WITH CAD EVALUATION

INDICATION FOR STUDY:         The patient states that she feels a lump superior to the left nipple.  This palpable lesion has been present for two weeks.

TECHNIQUE:          CC and MLO views of each breast were obtained along with CAD evaluation on the digital mammogram machine and the CAD evaluation was reviewed.

FINDINGS:               There is seen to be bilaterally dense mammary tissue.  No definable lesion can be seen in the anterior aspect of the left breast superior to the nipple.  However, an ultrasound examination of the left breast is suggested for further evaluation.

Some scattered benign appearing calcifications are seen.  No malignant appearing calcifications are identified or suspected.

The subcutaneous tissue and vascularity is normal.  The skin and nipples are normal.

IMPRESSION:        An ultrasound examination of the left breast is suggested for further evaluation.

BI-RADS Clinical Assessment Category 0:  Would recommend further evaluation as discussed.

Thank you for the referral.
