EVALUATION OF THE LUMBAR SPINE
FINDINGS: Views of the lumbar spine shows disc
space narrowing at L4-L5. There is also
disc space narrowing at L5-S1, though this is a highly variable finding.
Oblique films fail to
demonstrate any evidence of spondylolysis and the articulation of L5 on S1 is
otherwise normal with no evidence of spondylolisthesis.
In view of almost complete
loss of the L4-L5 disc space, a lumbar MRI may be of further diagnostic value.
IMPRESSION: Nearly complete loss of the L4-L5 disc space.
