X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE THIRD DIGIT OF THE LEFT HAND

X-RAY EVALUATION OF THE THIRD DIGIT OF THE LEFT HAND

FINDINGS:             There are changes consistent with fracture of the proximal portion of the distal phalanx of the third digit of the left hand, which extends to the articular region.  This is seen best on the lateral image.  There are changes suggestive of soft tissue swelling in this area.  The growth plates are identified.  A preliminary report was faxed at the time of the examination.  The remainder of the third digit showed no gross abnormality.

IMPRESSION:        Fracture of the proximal portion of the distal phalanx along the dorsal aspect of the finger extending to the region of the growth plate it appears.  Would recommend clinical correlation or further evaluation as needed.  A preliminary report was faxed at the time of the evaluation.

Thank you for the referral.
