CHEST X-RAY, PA AND LATERAL VIEWS
FINDINGS: An examination of the chest shows
the lungs to be well expanded and free of active or acute disease. Some mild interstitial pulmonary scarring is
present.
Heart size and contour
is normal. The patient has had a
previous median sternotomy with a bipolar pacing device entering from the
left. The distal electrode appears to
lie in the apex of the right ventricle.
Hemidiaphragms are
normal with clear costophrenic angles. A
lateral chest radiograph shows a clear retrocardiac space. The posterior sulcus is clear.
IMPRESSION:
1.
Previous
median sternotomy with a bipolar pacing device as described.
2.
Mild
interstitial pulmonary scarring seen.
3.
No
active or acute cardiopulmonary process.
