CHEST X-RAY, PA AND LATERAL VIEWS

INDICATION FOR STUDY:         Excessive tobacco use.

FINDINGS:               An examination of the chest shows the lungs to be well expanded and free of active or acute disease.  There is a small density seen in the periphery of the left mid lung field felt to represent a previous granuloma.

The heart and mediastinal structures are normal.  Hemidiaphragms are normal with clear costophrenic angles.

A lateral chest radiograph shows a clear retrocardiac space.  The posterior sulcus is clear.

IMPRESSION:         No active or acute cardiopulmonary process is identified, but evidence of prior granulomatous disease.
