UPRIGHT MRI EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT AND LEFT HIP WITHOUT CONTRAST

UPRIGHT MRI EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT AND LEFT HIP WITHOUT CONTRAST

FINDINGS:                 Coronal and axial images were obtained on the upright MRI with the patient in weightbearing 30-degree angle position.  The patient had previous MRI examination of the lumbar spine from XXXXXXX and would recommend reference to that report.  The evaluation shows no significant fracture or dislocation.  There are slight osteophytic degenerative changes of the hips.  The surrounding soft tissues and muscle planes show no gross abnormality.  There is no evidence of significant abnormality to the region of the attachments to the bony structures of the right or left hip.  There is no significant joint effusion.  There are no inflammatory changes.  The remainder of the visualized soft tissues appeared without gross abnormality.  The patient has large body habitus.

IMPRESSION:           Slight degenerative joint disease at the right and left hip.  No significant fracture, dislocation, joint effusion, or inflammatory changes.  The surrounding soft tissues and muscle planes all appear intact and without gross abnormality.  Would recommend clinical correlation or further evaluation as needed.

Thank you for the referral.
XXXXXXX
