MRI EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT
KNEE WITHOUT CONTRAST
FINDINGS: Axial, sagittal, and coronal
images were obtained on the 1.5 Tesla GE MRI.
The patella appears in good position and the posterior cartilage shows
no gross abnormality. There is no
significant Baker’s cyst, but there are some prominent veins noted in the
posterior aspect, which may represent varicose veins and would recommend
clinical correlation or further evaluation as needed. There is no fracture, dislocation, or contusion
to the bony structures. The anterior and
posterior cruciate ligament, medial and lateral collateral ligament, and
quadriceps patellar tendon appear intact.
There are changes consistent with a subtle tear in the posterior horn of
the medial meniscus and anterior horn of the lateral meniscus. The age of these changes is indeterminate and
would recommend clinical correlation or further evaluation as clinically
necessary.
