MRI EXAMINATION OF THE LEFT THUMB WITH AND WITHOUT I.V. CONTRAST

MRI EXAMINATION OF THE LEFT THUMB WITH AND WITHOUT I.V. CONTRAST

FINDINGS:               Multiplanar and multisequence imaging was performed on the 1.5 Tesla GE MRI with and without contrast.  The region of the first digit was reviewed.  At the region of the metacarpophalangeal joint, there is no significant abnormality to suggest ligamentous tear.  The bony structures appear within normal limits.  The soft tissues also show no gross abnormality.  If there is any further concern, would recommend further evaluation as needed.  After administration of contrast, there is no significant abnormal enhancement.  It is not clear that there is significant enhancing granulation or scar tissue.  Would recommend clinical correlation or further evaluation as needed and would recommend correlation with any prior studies as clinically indicated.  The remainder of the visualized bony structures show slight chronic changes, but no other significant acute abnormality.  There is no other significant abnormal enhancement.

Thank you for the referral.
