UPRIGHT MRI EXAMINATION OF THE CERVICAL SPINE WITHOUT CONTRAST WITH ADDITIONAL SAGITTAL UPRIGHT VIEWS
FINDINGS: The
vertebral bodies are in relatively good alignment. The patient is slightly rotated. The cord shows no significant signal abnormality
and there is no Chiari malformation.
At the level of C5-C6, there is
slight disc space loss. There is slight
increased signal in the C6 vertebral body seen both on T1 and T2 weighted
images of uncertain significance and may represent some modic type
changes. There is no evidence of
fracture to the vertebral bodies.
At the level of C2-C3, there is
no significant disc herniation, central canal stenosis, or neuroforaminal
narrowing.
At the level of C3-C4, there is
no significant disc herniation, central canal stenosis, or neuroforaminal
narrowing. There are slight osteophytic
changes of the facet joints.
At the level of C4-C5, there is a
central-to-slightly right paracentral disc herniation causing indentation on
the anterior thecal sac seen on image 8 of series 105 and image 7 of series
107. There is slight indentation on the
exiting right neuroforaminal region, but no significant impingement
bilaterally.
At the level of C5-C6, there is
diffuse disc herniation and mild central canal stenosis. There is slight bilateral neuroforaminal
narrowing. This is seen on images 11 and
12 of series 105 and image 7 of series 107.
At the level of C6-C7, there is a
diffuse disc herniation with indentation on the anterior thecal sac. There is no significant central canal
stenosis. There is left neuroforaminal
narrowing secondary to disc herniation.
There is no significant right neuroforaminal narrowing. There are some osteophytic changes of the
facet joints.
At the level of C7-T1, there is no
significant disc herniation, central canal stenosis, or neuroforaminal
narrowing. There are osteophytic changes
of the facet joints.
IMPRESSION: Changes consistent with disc herniation at the level
of C4-C5, C5-C6, and C6-C7 as discussed above.
