MRI EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT ANKLE WITHOUT CONTRAST

MRI EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT ANKLE WITHOUT CONTRAST

INDICATION FOR STUDY:         Pain.  Prior trauma and surgery in XXXXXXX.  No prior studies for comparison.

FINDINGS:               Axial, sagittal, and coronal images were obtained on the 1.5 Tesla GE MRI.  There is no significant fracture or dislocation.  There is no significant contusion.  The ligaments and tendons all appear intact.  The talar dome shows no gross abnormality.  The soft tissues appear without significant abnormality.  If there is any further clinical concern, would recommend clinical correlation or correlation with prior studies.  There is slight edema noted in the medial aspect laterally and question if this is the region of the patient’s prior surgery, there appears to be slight loss of subcutaneous soft tissues in this region.  There is no clear evidence of other gross abnormality.  This is seen from approximately image 11 through image 20 of series 6.

Thank you for the referral.
