TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL ULTRASOUND STUDY OF PELVIS

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL ULTRASOUND STUDY OF PELVIS

FINDINGS:             The uterus measures 8.2 x 3.4 x 3.9 cm.  Multiple small cystic lesions are seen involving the cervix.  They range in size from 4.4 mm to 9.1 mm.

The endometrial stripe measures 7 mm, which is within normal limits.

Right ovary measures 4.2 x 3.7 x 3.9 cm and the left ovary measures 2.9 x 2.0 x 2.2 cm.  There is a 3.4 x 2.9 cm septated cystic lesion in the right adnexa.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

IMPRESSION:        Septated 3.4 x 2.9 cm cystic lesion in the right adnexa, most probably representing ovarian cyst.

Thank you for the referral.

TRANSABDOMINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

FINDINGS:             The uterus measures 10.9 x 4 x 5.5 cm.  It has a homogeneous echotexture.

Endometrial stripe measures 1.4 cm.

Right ovary measures 5.7 x 5.3 x 5.9 cm and left ovary measures 2.3 x 1.4 x 1.7 cm.  There is a 4.4 x 4.1 cm well marginated cystic lesion in the right adnexa.

There is no free fluid in the pelvis.

IMPRESSION:        Large right ovarian cyst measuring 4.4 x 4.1 cm.

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

CLINICAL DATA:            Pelvic pain.

FINDINGS:             The uterus is normal in size measuring 7.9 x 3.9 x 5.1 cm.  It has a homogeneous echotexture.  There is no intrauterine mass noted.

The endometrial stripe measures 4.4 mm and this is within normal limits.

Right ovary was not visualized.

The left ovary appeared to be enlarged measuring about 12.4 x 3.4 x 4.9 cm.  There is a questionable left adnexal mass measuring about 2.9 x 2.7 cm.  Considering the finding, clinical correlation and if indicated, further evaluation with MRI is suggested.

The presence of free fluid in the cul-de-sac is noted.

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

CLINICAL DATA:         Dysmenorrhea.

FINDINGS:             The uterus measures 9 x 4.6 x 5.5 cm.  It has a heterogeneous echotexture.  No definite intrauterine mass is seen.  There is a small 8 mm nabothian cyst.

Endometrial stripe measures 9 mm.

Right ovary measures 3.2 x 2.3 x 2.9 cm and left ovary measures 3.5 x 3.2 x 2.9 cm.  There is no evidence of mass noted.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

IMPRESSION:
1.         No definite intrauterine mass is seen.  However, the uterus has a heterogeneous echotexture.  This may be related to fibroid changes.  Other possibilities cannot be completely excluded.
2.          No definite adnexal mass is seen.

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

CLINICAL DATA:      IUD placement.

FINDINGS:             The uterus is enlarged measuring 11.5 x 6.2 x 7.2 cm.  There is a 2 x 2 cm intrauterine mass.

There is an intrauterine IUD in place.

Right ovary measures 3.2 x 2.5 x 2.6 cm and left ovary measures 5.9 x 5.8 x 5 cm.  There is a
4.3 x 4.2 cm cystic mass in the left adnexa.

There is no free fluid in the pelvis.

IMPRESSION:
1.                   Enlarged uterus associated with 2 cm intrauterine mass, probably representing a fibroid.  Other possibilities cannot be completely excluded.
2.                   Intrauterine IUD in place.
3.                   Left ovarian cyst measuring 4.3 cm.

Thank you for the referral.

ULTRASOUND STUDY OF THE PELVIS TRANSVAGINAL

ULTRASOUND STUDY OF THE PELVIS TRANSVAGINAL

CLINICAL DATA:  Abnormal Pap.

Comparison was made with the previous study of 2006.

The uterus measures 6 x 3.6 cm x 5 cm.  There are small echogenic masses with calcification, largest measuring 2 x 1.4 x 2.2 cm.

Endometrial stripe measures 4 mm and this is within normal limits.

Right ovary was not visualized.  Left ovary measures 1.8 x 1.3 x 1.8 cm.  There is no adnexal mass noted.

There is no free fluid in the pelvis.

IMPRESSION:        Multiple small intrauterine masses with calcification, most likely representing small fibroids, largest measures about 2 x 1.4 x 2.2 cm.

TRANSABDOMINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

CLINICAL DATA:            Pain.  Abnormal bleeding.

FINDINGS:             The uterus measures 9.6 x 4.2 x 6.8 cm.  There is a 3.3 x 3 cm intrauterine hypoechoic mass with calcification, most likely representing a calcified fibroid.

The endometrial stripe was not visualized.

Ovaries were not visualized.  No definite adnexal mass is seen.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

IMPRESSION:
1.                   About 3.3 x 3 cm intrauterine hypoechoic mass with calcification, most likely representing a calcified fibroid.  Other possibilities cannot be completely excluded.
2.                   Endometrial stripe and ovaries were not visualized making the study limited.

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

FINDINGS:             The uterus measures 5.3 x 2.9 x 3.3 cm.  It has a heterogeneous echotexture.  No definite intrauterine mass is seen.

There is a small 8 mm hypoechoic area in the cervical region.  It is of indeterminate nature.

The endometrial stripe was not optimally visualized.

The right ovary was not visualized.  The left ovary measures 3.2 x 2.6 x 2.9 cm.  There is a
1.9 x 1.8 cm cystic left adnexal lesion, most probably representing a small left ovarian cyst.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

IMPRESSION:
1.         No definite intrauterine mass is seen.
2.          The endometrial stripe and right ovary are not visualized.
3.          Small left ovarian cyst measuring about 1.9 x 1.8 cm.
4.         The study is limited.  Clinical correlation and if indicated, further evaluation with MRI of the pelvis is suggested.
