TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

CLINICAL DATA:               Pain.

FINDINGS:               Uterus measures 10.2 x 3.9 x 5.5 cm.  There is a small intrauterine
1.8 x 1.3 cm mass.

Endometrial stripe measures 7 mm and this is within normal limits.

Right ovary measures 3.3 x 2.7 x 2.2 cm and left ovary measures 2.3 x 1.7 x 2.2 cm.

There is a small, 1.8 x 1.7 cm complex, mainly cystic right adnexal lesion.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.

IMPRESSION:
1.                   Small about 1.8 cm intrauterine mass, probably representing a small fibroid.  Other possibilities cannot be completely excluded.
2.                   About 1.8 cm complex, mainly cystic, right adnexal lesion.  It probably represents a complex cyst.  Other possibilities cannot be completely excluded.  Clinical correlation and if indicated, further evaluation is suggested.

TRANSABDOMINAL AND TRANSVAGINAL PELVIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION

FINDINGS:             The uterus measures 10.5 x 4.6 x 6.1 cm.  It has a homogeneous echotexture.  There is no intrauterine mass noted.

Endometrial stripe is thickened measuring 1.6 cm.  This may be related to hyperplasia or a polyp.  Clinical correlation and if indicated, further evaluation is suggested.

Right ovary measures 3 x 3 x 3.7 cm.

There is a very large, about 14 x 9.3 cm complex, mainly cystic left adnexal mass.  It may represent a complicated cyst.  Other possibilities cannot be excluded.  Further evaluation with CAT scan is recommended.

There is no free fluid in the cul-de-sac.
