ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

FINDINGS:               The right lobe measures 4.4 x 1.7 x 2.4 cm and left lobe measures
4.4 x 1.5 x 2 cm.

The isthmus measures 2 mm.

Both lobes of the thyroid have a heterogeneous echotexture and there is a 1.3 x 1.1 cm nodule involving the right lobe.

There is a small 9 mm x 7 mm nodule involving the left lobe.

IMPRESSION:        Heterogeneous echotexture of both lobes of the thyroid associated with
1.1 cm x 1.3 cm nodule involving the right lobe and 9 mm x 7 mm nodule involving the left lobe.  This may be related to goiter.  Other possibilities cannot be excluded.  Clinical correlation and further evaluation is suggested.

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

CLINICAL DATA:         Thyroid mass.

FINDINGS:             The right lobe measures 6.7 x 2.6 x 2.7 cm and left lobe measures
6 x 2.1 x 1.7 cm.  The left lobe has a heterogeneous echotexture.

There is a 2.8 x 2.2 cm nodule involving the right lobe.

There are multiple small nodules measuring 8 x 8 mm, 1 cm x 9 mm, and 6 x 5 mm involving the left lobe.

The isthmus measures 1 cm and has a heterogeneous echotexture.

IMPRESSION:        Enlarged thyroid with multiple nodules as discussed.  This may be related to multinodular goiter.  Other possibilities cannot be excluded.  Clinical correlation and further evaluation is recommended.

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

CLINICAL DATA:            Thyroiditis.

FINDINGS:             The right lobe measures 4.1 x 2.2 x 2.2 cm and the left lobe measures
4.1 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm.

Both lobes have a heterogeneous echotexture.  However, there is no solid or cystic nodule noted.

The isthmus measures 2 mm.

IMPRESSION:        Heterogeneous echotexture of both lobes and the findings are consistent with the present history of thyroiditis.  No definite solid or cystic nodule is noted.  Clinical correlation is suggested.

Thank you for the referral.

ULTRASOUND STUDY OF THE THYROID

ULTRASOUND STUDY OF THE THYROID

FINDINGS:             The right lobe measures 4.3 x 1.7 x 1.6 cm and left lobe measures
3.1 x 1.8 x 1.2 cm.

Isthmus measures 6 mm.

Both lobes have a heterogeneous echotexture.

There is a solid appearing 1.1 cm x 9 mm nodule involving the lower pole region of the right lobe.

IMPRESSION:
1.                   Mildly enlarged right lobe.
2.                   1.1 cm x 9 mm solid nodule involving the lower pole region of the right lobe.  It may represent a small adenoma.  Other possibilities cannot be completely excluded.  Clinical correlation and if indicated further evaluation is suggested.

Thank you for the referral.

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION OF THE THYROID

CLINICAL DATA:        Goiter.

FINDINGS:              Comparison was made with the previous study of XXXXXXX.

Right lobe measures 4.4 x 2.1 x 1.8 cm and left lobe measures 4.4 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm.

Both lobes have a heterogeneous echotexture.

There is a nodular lesion involving the right lobe.  It measures 1.8 x 1.2 x 1.4 cm.

There are small nodules involving the left lobe measuring 1.1 cm x 8 mm and 5 x 4 mm.

Isthmus measures 6 mm.

IMPRESSION:        Multiple nodules involving the thyroid gland and the finding is consistent with multinodular goiter.  In comparison with the previous study of XXXXXXX, there does not appear to be any significant interval change.

Thank you for the referral.
